Hori hori Japanese soil knife

I have been a convert to the cult of Japanese tools in the garden for years now.

Wonderful woods, sharp steel and perfectly simple designs for efficient usage.

But the hori hori stands out above them all.

Be it in the veg garden or the perennial boarders we could not live without this tool, it is the first thing we reach for when planting and dividing. A stainless steel blade that is sharp on one side and secreted on the other. The narrow blade is the best veg planting tool hands down. The blade has a scale in it so you can measure your planting holes. Its wooden handle rounds slowly and gets a wonderful patina over the years.
