I really don’t know what I would do if I did not have Russian Red Kale in my life. It is really hardy here in PA and I have eaten it from the field 12 months out of the year. I even grow it around the house, just because I love seeing it! Russian Red Kale made its way to North America via Russian traders into Canada around 1885. Plant it in the spring to early summer and then again in late summer to early fall & you will have tons of those wonderfully intense leaves to cook or add to a salad.
