Pomodoro Costoluto Fiorentino is its true Italian name, which means ribbed tomato of Florence in the region of Tuscany, in the north-central part of Italy. My friend picked this one up for us while WWOOFing (WWOOF.ORG) there and, dang, we totally fell in love with it. A medium deep red ribbed slicing heirloom with fruit that are about 4.5-5” and are wonderful for fresh eating or the backbone of a grand sauce. The flavor is divinely acidic and quite charming.
