Dr. Martin Lima Bean Seed

Dr. Martin Lima Bean Seed- And you thought that he just made boots, No not that Dr. Martin. Ours was a dentist who owned a farm here in Chester County and was a bit of a plant breeder (Developed the Lima most likely sometime in the 30’s) and his Lima causes somewhat of a hysteria here in the deep reaches of the Brandywine River, where people whisper about it at candle light dinner parties of mid-summer or meet in parking lots to sell bags full of beans. A giant Lima bean that is a culinary treasure the pods can be 8-9” long and each bean can be 1.5-2” across.  Shelled these beans have a sweetness and lack of starch that is not seen in many other Lima beans. No true Pa German succotash would be complete with out this bean. Our seed is a mixture of three sources all directly from the good Dr. himself. 10 sustainably seeds– supplies are limited
